Did you know that God has personally invited you to a wedding? And not just any wedding. A heavenly, glorious wedding that all of the angels are eagerly awaiting.
The venue for the ceremony has already been chosen—the celebration will take place in the most beautiful place that has ever existed, with breathtaking views and a perfectly harmonious climate; none other than Heaven.
The festivities have been in preparation for several millennia. The final touches are being made; the tables are carefully set, the tablecloths are sumptuous, the glasses and cutlery are lined up, and background music fills the atmosphere with precision and marvel… everything is sublime and splendid.
Nevertheless, one question remains: who are the guests?
“Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb” (Revelation 19:9)

In my Swiss culture, there are always two stages and two types of guests at a wedding. The first one is for the greater number: the bride and groom’s acquaintances. Almost everyone is expected to attend the religious ceremony. Then, once the formalities are over, the wedding takes on a whole new dimension. This time, the audience is smaller, with only special guests invited to the next part: the dinner and the party!
In order to be part of this group of people, a special invitation must be sent intentionally by the bride and groom. In other words, it is reserved for close and intimate friends of the bride and groom.
“God may be your best friend, but are you His?
I have some wonderful news for you today: God wants to invite you to His Son’s wedding. He is ready to celebrate with you in the courts of heaven. However, this invitation is twofold.
It is twofold because its purpose will be fulfilled when we finally attend the wedding feast of the Lamb, but it is also a call to become friends with Jesus right now. God may be your best friend, but are you His?
We all love God’s presence, but does He love ours? Of course He loves us all with unconditional love—I’m not talking about that kind of love. I’m talking about friendship, intimacy like Moses and John the Beloved had. Do you want that? Do you want to attend the wedding feast of the Lamb?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for saving me. Thank You that You search for people who seek You. Holy Spirit, I desire to commune with You every day of my life. I worship You and decide to make the quest to be Your friend the treasure of my existence. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
