Trusting The God of Every Season

“I am the LORD, and there is no other. I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the LORD, am the one who does these things.” – Isaiah 45:6-7

What an incredible truth this scripture reveals! It reminds us of God’s ultimate sovereignty over every season of life. From the moments of joy and celebration to the valleys of challenges and uncertainty, He remains the same unchanging, all powerful Lord.

It’s easy to praise God in the light, when blessings overflow, and everything seems to fall into place. But when the darkness comes, those seasons of struggle, pain, or disappointment we can be tempted to question His plan or even His presence. Yet, Isaiah reminds us that God is not absent in those moments. He is still at work, bringing purpose and beauty even out of the hardest times.

I would love to share with you the story of Peter and Ruth from Cape Town, South Africa. This couple had built a thriving business, but when the pandemic struck, they lost nearly everything. They wrestled with fear and frustration, wondering why God had allowed such hardship. Yet, in their prayers, they felt God’s assurance: “I am still the Lord, even in this.” Through the storm, they discovered new opportunities to serve others, started a ministry to help struggling families, and eventually saw their lives rebuilt in ways they never imagined.

This is the mystery and majesty of our God. He creates the light and allows the darkness, not to harm us but to refine us, grow our faith, and reveal His greater purpose. The good times remind us of His abundant blessings, while the challenging times draw us closer to His heart.

God is sovereign over both light and darkness. Trust Him in every season, and you will see His faithful hand guiding you.

In every season, the Holy Spirit is present, comforting, guiding, and strengthening us. No matter what life brings, you can trust that the Lord is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

If you’re in a season of light, celebrate His goodness and use it to bless others. If you’re walking through darkness, hold on to His promise that He is with you and will lead you through. Remember, He is the same Lord in every moment, and His plans for you are always filled with hope and purpose.

Prayer: Father, thank You for being the Lord of every season of my life. I trust You in the light and in the darkness, knowing You are always with me. Holy Spirit, help me see Your purpose in every moment and walk in faith no matter the circumstances. Strengthen me to trust in Your unchanging love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
