Time to Eat!

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because they will be filled.Matthew 5:6

In the natural dimension, when you stop eating, your body cries out for food. For some, it even screams. After just 12 hours without food, your stomach starts gurgling, your breath smells foul, you get a headache and your nerves are on edge. A perfectly normal sequence for our organism.

In God’s kingdom, however, it’s just the opposite. The less you feed your mind, the quieter it will be. In other words, the less you read Scripture, the less you’ll want to read Scripture. The less you go to church, the less you’ll want to go to church. The only way to keep a mind awake and hungry is to feed it continually.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because they will be filled.”
Matthew 5:6

As Christians, there’s a way to check whether we’re in good spiritual health. We can self-examine what state we’re in: are we hungry for more of God? Then the life of Christ is still present and we are well. All clear.

Are we, on the contrary, wearyjaded and sterile when it comes to the things of the Lord? Danger! Danger! Danger! The heart is falling asleep and moral laxity is taking hold. Certain death is promised if we don’t receive an electroshock from the Holy Spirit.

The Word of God coupled with the fire of the Spirit is an excellent defibrillator to awaken your heart.”

The good news is that the Word of God coupled with the fire of the Spirit is an excellent defibrillator to awaken your heart. So expose yourself to the Lord’s testimonies, study God’s great movements throughout history, surrender your being to God’s Presence, let Him fill you anew. You’ll see, little by little you’ll rediscover an appetite for the glory of the Lord. What you were born for. So come, don’t delay and eat! Be abundantly blessed.

Prayer
: Jesus, thank You for Your patience. Feed me with Your Presence, Your Word and Your Person. I need You. Awaken my heart, Holy Spirit, to pursue the things of the kingdom of God. Amen.
