“For this is what the Lord Almighty says: Whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye.” – Zechariah 2:8
What a powerful promise! God Himself declares that His people are His most precious possession. He says that anyone who dares to harm you is touching the most sensitive part of His being, the apple of His eye. This is how deeply He treasures and protects you.
Think about it: our eyes are the most delicate and guarded parts of our body. Instinctively, we protect them from danger. In the same way, the Lord surrounds you with His protection. He is not distant or indifferent to your battles. Every attack against you is felt by Him, and He rises to defend His beloved children.

Maybe you have felt attacked, rejected, or mistreated by people or by circumstances. Perhaps you have faced unfair criticism, betrayal, or opposition. The Good News is that you are not forgotten or abandoned. You are precious to the Lord, and He takes it personally when someone tries to harm you. He says: “Whoever touches you, touches My eye.” That is how close you are to His heart.
I had the privilege to meet brothers and sisters from Mozambique who were facing persecution. They had lost homes and family members because of their faith in Jesus, yet their faces were radiant with joy. When I asked how they could still rejoice, they answered, “Because we know that we are the apple of His eye. He will never forsake us.” Their confidence in God’s love gave them unshakable strength.
“You are not just noticed by God, you are cherished by Him. Whoever touches you touches His heart, for you are the apple of His eye.“
The Holy Spirit is the one who constantly reminds you of this truth. He whispers in your heart that you are loved, chosen, and protected. He makes you aware of God’s nearness and guards your soul with peace. No matter what you face today, walk with confidence. Lift your head high knowing that you are God’s most treasured possession. Let the enemy rage, let circumstances rise—the Almighty God has His hand over you, and His eye is upon you.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for calling me the apple of Your eye. Thank You that I am precious to You, and that no weapon formed against me will prosper. Holy Spirit, fill me with confidence and peace today. I trust in Your protection, and I choose to rest in Your unfailing love. Amen.
