“This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.’” — Isaiah 30:15
Each of us is unique, with our own strengths and weaknesses. But sometimes, our strengths can become weaknesses. For example, being very active and driven, as I am, can make it challenging to pause, rest, and fully trust Him. Now the promises of God are neither linked with our character nor human possibilities nor limitations. But God’s promises are for all of us and the Good News is: there’s a strength available to you that doesn’t come from striving, worrying, or trying to figure everything out on your own. It’s the strength that comes from quiet confidence in God the kind of confidence that says, “Lord, I trust You, no matter what”.
Life has a way of pulling us in every direction. Deadlines at work, pressures at home, unexpected challenges. These can all leave us feeling drained, restless, and overwhelmed. But here’s the good news: God’s promise to you is that your strength is not found in the chaos. It’s not found in doing more or being more. Your strength is found in Him—in resting in His presence and trusting in His plan.
The world often tells us we have to be loud to be heard, aggressive to succeed, or constantly busy to achieve. But God’s way is different. He says, “Come back to Me. Rest in Me. Quiet your heart.” When we trust Him and choose to find our strength in Him, we discover a peace and confidence that cannot be shaken.
“This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.’” – Isaiah 30:15
Let me share a testimony. A great man loving God was going through a season of incredible stress. He had lost his job, his health was declining, and he felt like everything in his life was falling apart. He told me that he spent hours trying to fix everything on his own, but nothing worked. One day, he came across this verse from Isaiah 30:15, and it hit him like a lightning bolt. He realized that he needed to stop striving and start trusting.
He began spending time in prayer, not asking God for answers, but simply resting in His presence. Slowly, things began to change. A job opportunity came out of nowhere. His health started improving. And more than that, he found a deep peace that he hadn’t experienced in years. That’s the power of quiet confidence in God.
Maybe you’re in a similar place right now. Perhaps you feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. Let me remind you: You don’t have to carry it all. God is inviting you to come to Him, to return to His presence, and to find rest in His love.
“True strength isn’t found in striving but it’s found in surrender. Rest in God’s presence, and He will fill you with quiet confidence that moves mountains.“
When you let go of your striving and trust in Him, you open the door for His strength to flood into your life. And His strength is greater than anything you’re facing. He is the Sovereign Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth, and He is more than able to handle your situation.
So today, I encourage you to pause. Take a deep breath. Lay your burdens at His feet and say, “Lord, I trust You. I rest in You.” You’ll find that in that quiet place of surrender, God will fill you with the strength, peace, and confidence you need to face anything that comes your way.
Prayer: Lord, I come to You today and lay every worry, every fear, and every burden at Your feet. Teach me to rest in Your presence and to trust in Your plan. Fill me with Your peace and strength as I choose to lean on You. Thank You for being my refuge and my source of quiet confidence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
