Safe in His arms

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; He gently leads those that have young.” – Isaiah 40:11

In a world that often feels uncertain, unsafe, and unpredictable, God gives us this extraordinary promise. He is the Shepherd who carries His people close to His heart. He does not only guide us from a distance, but He comes near, lifts us up, and surrounds us with His love. That is where you belong today: not in fear, not in isolation, but safe in His arms.

Every one of us knows what it means to feel vulnerable. Perhaps you have faced a moment when you felt abandoned, when people you trusted walked away, or when circumstances left you feeling powerless. In those moments, the Shepherd whispers, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” He does not merely speak words of comfort, He carries you.

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; He gently leads those that have young.” – Isaiah 40:11

During a service in my church in Oron-La-Ville Switzerland, I met a man who had lost his job and with it his sense of identity. He told me he felt as if his whole world was collapsing. But while we were praying, the Holy Spirit touched him in a very real way. Tears ran down his face as he said, “For the first time in months, I felt lifted. It was as if the Lord Himself picked me up in His arms.” That moment changed everything. His circumstances did not immediately shift, but his heart was safe and secure in the Shepherd’s embrace.

This is the reality of Isaiah 40:11. The Shepherd does not leave the broken ones behind. He does not abandon those who feel crushed by life. He gathers them, holds them, and carries them. Dear friend, you are not forgotten. You are not lost. You are not too heavy for Him to carry. The Good News is that your Shepherd is strong enough to hold you and tender enough to love you at the same time.

In the arms of the Shepherd, fear has no power and peace becomes your reality.

The Holy Spirit is the One who makes this truth alive in your daily life. He is not just a doctrine to be studied, but a living Presence who fills you with peace, who strengthens your soul, and who reminds you again and again that you are secure. When the storms rage around you, His voice whispers, “You are safe. You are mine.”

Think about it: the safest place in the universe is not a locked room, not a guarded fortress, not even the comfort of your own home. The safest place is in the arms of the Shepherd. There, fear has no power, despair has no voice, and hopelessness has no grip.

Today you can rest in that place. Do not let anxiety rob you of peace. Do not let fear dictate your future. You are held by the One who has conquered death, who rules over every storm, and who will never let you go.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for holding me close to Your heart. Thank You for carrying me when I cannot carry myself. Today I choose to rest in Your love and trust in Your strength. Holy Spirit, fill me with the assurance that I am never alone, and that my life is safe in Your arms. Amen.
