“I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit, apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5
Fruit in every season is not the result of pressure, it is the result of Presence. Jesus invites us to abide, to remain, to stay close. The life is in the Vine and the fruit is in the branches that receive that life. January often pushes us to resolutions and hurry. Heaven pulls us to relationship. When we abide, we abound, because the Holy Spirit, who always makes the difference, moves sap through the soul, bringing freshness to prayer, purity to motives, wisdom to choices, and love to actions.
Think of a vineyard above the sea, rows upon rows soaking sunlight and drawing quiet strength from deep roots. That is your life in Christ. Hidden connections produce visible fruit. The Good News is: you are not asked to manufacture outcomes. You are invited to remain in the One who already overcame. In His nearness, joy ripens, peace grows sweet, patience matures, and kindness becomes natural. The Father is honored when the harvest increases, because the harvest points to His Son.

In Pemba, Mozambique, my very close friends Mama Heidi and Rolland Baker have served children and villages with simple, costly love. Through years of droughts and storms, the focus has remained the same: abide in Jesus and love the one in front. Out of that abiding, the Lord has brought salvations, reconciled families, fed communities, and raised leaders who now serve across nations. The fruit was not forced, it flowed from remaining in the Vine. The same grace is available everywhere.
Dear friend, let this last week that will influence the whole year be marked by closeness. Not by striving, but by staying. Jesus is not asking you to be impressive, He is inviting you to be connected. When pressures come, return to the Vine. When decisions stack up, return to the Vine. When joy is full and doors open, remain in the Vine. The Holy Spirit will keep your heart tender and your vision clear. He will prune what hinders love and multiply what reveals Jesus. The result is much fruit that remains, fruit that looks like Christ and blesses people.

The Good News is: your life will not be barren. The Gardener is skilled and kind. He knows the exact season you are in and the exact care you need. He will not waste your tears or your time. He will bring beauty out of bare branches and celebration out of hidden seasons. Stay close and watch what He does. Abide, and you will abound.
Prayer: Jesus, You are my Vine and my life. I choose to remain in You. Holy Spirit, keep my heart close and my roots deep in Your love. Let Your life flow through me and bring much fruit that gives the Father Glory. Prune what hinders, strengthen what is good, and make my home and my church a vineyard of blessing for many.
