The joy of being saved and loved

“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation” – Psalm 51:12

After much research and study, scientists and psychologists have found out the importance of joy for the emotional growth of a child. Indeed, little babies develop their emotional capacity only if their parents and other adults show them glimpses of love and make all kinds of grins.  We have all tried to make a baby laugh or smile by making different grins with our face. Often, the little child answered our ridiculous grins by laughing or showing his happiness. This moment of tenderness, even if simple and normal, is vital for a child to later develop his emotional abilities – especially those of joy!

“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation”
Psalm 51:12

Isn´t this interesting? My brothers and sisters, I am sure that this is the same in our life as in the life of a Christian. The bible tells us about a prayer in Psalm 67 verse 2, which is full of glory: “God may have mercy on us and bless us and make shine his face on us”.

The face of God described in this text is the face of a perfect father who expresses his approval and his delight towards his children – you and me. This report is therefore easy to make: if we are sad and depressed, perhaps because we simply didn´t take our time to stop, to lift our face and to observe the face of our God…

“The key for living in joy is to contemplate the face of the Lord. ”

Do you want to live a life overflowing with supernatural joy? Then look to your heavenly father; he has forgiven you and loves you like he loves Jesus his son! He loves you deeply and enjoys you. When you are covered by the blood of the lamb, God considers you as justified and holy! This is good news, isn’t it? The key for living in joy is to contemplate the face of the Lord. His face is shining with joy and glory, and when you see him face to face, this same joy and glory will be reflected on you. Imagine the atmosphere of your house, when you abound with joy! Personally, I am convinced that the church of the last hours will be a bright church because this church will be full of the joy and jubilance of her spouse.

After a very important sin, David asked God to restore the joy of his salvation; and God answered this prayer. But imagine this: if David could find joy in God´s forgiveness, how much more we, who live under the new alliance, can have access to the deep joy of Christ? We are saved! Jesus lives! The father does not condemn us! God is not responsible for an orphanage, but for a joyful and happy people as his people have been accepted and redeemed by the precious blood of Christ!

Prayer: Thank you Lord that you have saved unto me the joy of your salvation! Help me to see the amount of your love for me. Amen.
