Special strength for special assignment

“Then the LORD gave special strength to Elijah. He tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab’s chariot all the way to the entrance of Jezreel.” – 1 Kings 18:46

In former times, and still today in some Eastern countries, kings and nobles used to have their chariots preceded by runners, who were tightly girded for this purpose. The prophet, like the Bedouins of his native Gilead, had been trained to run; and, as the Lord was with him, he continued with unfailing agility and strength. It was, under the circumstances, a most appropriate service which Elijah rendered. It tended to strengthen the favorable impression made upon the heart of Ahab, and furnished an answer to the criticisms of Jezebel, for it showed that he who was so zealous in the service of God was at the same time devoted to his king. The result of this solemn and decisive struggle was a severe blow and a great discouragement to the cause of idolatry. But subsequent events seem to prove that the impressions, though deep, were only partial and temporary.

“The hand of the Lord” was “upon” and “with” Elijah. And this hand of God refers to the miraculous power of God that we can read about in various accounts. By the power of the Holy Spirit, Elijah outdistanced Ahab’s chariots to the entrance of Jezreel, which was about 45 km from Carmel. The apostle Paul was looking forward to this supernatural power of God to accomplish his mission. His prayer that we read in Acts 4:30 was, “Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” And the answer was that The power, The supernatural strength of God was with him to bring the Kingdom of God to whole regions.

God has called you to do great things for Him that will glorify His Name. And as Elijah was faced to some enemies who were even after His life, while he was in obedience to a special mission, God’s supernatural strength came upon him. The same force that invaded Elijah, which is the power of the Holy Spirit, wants to invade you now to accomplish the mission He has entrusted to you.

“With the help of God, you will cross walls that nobody can cross in a natural way.”

Jean-Luc Trachsel

Expect this divine force that will surprise you and that can bring you to run beyond what a human being is ever able to run. With the help of God, you will cross walls that nobody can cross in a natural way. You will find solutions by inspiration of the Holy Spirit that will be a real revolution. Through this extraordinary strength, you will overturn the functions that have blocked all progress for too long.

God is with you. Listen to His voice and like Elijah, do not be afraid of confronting even the king and queen Jezebel who were against God and His principles. When God entrusts you with a mission, of course there will be opposition and people who will hate you. But this strength in you, His anointing, will allow you to demonstrate that God is God and that there is none like Him. Signs and wonders, miracles and healings are your portion to live a supernatural life with God.

Prayer: Thank you Holy Spirit for your anointing and this supernatural force that you release in me to fulfill my destiny.
