Shout and praise God for your victory

Joshua 6:20
“So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

In order to conquer the promised land, starting with a walled city called Jericho, Joshua and the people had to walk around its walls seven times. They had to shout before the walls collapsed. It sounds a bit strange to conquer a place full of enemies, giants and fortresses in this way. But this is God’s way and the principles of his Kingdom.

We might have thought that God would ask them to shout and be joyful after the victory, once the walls had come down. But no, it requires no faith. It is easy to sing and praise God when we are on top of a mountain, when things are going our way. But God asks us to learn to praise him when we are down in the valley or facing the powers of darkness. Praising the Lord is a powerful key when we face enemies or challenges.

God invites us to cry out before the results are visible. Before the walls tremble, by faith expecting God’s power, simply release the sound of victory through your mouth, praising the Almighty God. When we thank and praise Him, it is an act of faith that allows Him to release His solutions. We don’t dwell on the fact that we are going through difficult times, we praise Him for enabling us to get through them. We lift his name above all names and situations. We exalt him as Lord of lords and King of kings, and we thank him because victory is on the way.

Today you may think that there is no way, no solution. This is a lie of the devil because God knows how to unblock certain situations. Everything is possible with our God. He is the mighty provider. He is your healer, He is your saviour and your deliverer. You just have to put your hope and faith in Him. And by faith, look away from the problem and turn your eyes to Jesus for an answer. Like Joshua and his army, in the presence of the Lord and in the face of your mountains and challenges, lift up your voice and cry out in praise. Remember that praise always precedes victory!

Prayer: Almighty God, thank you for the example of Joshua. I have faith in you, Almighty God. I know that you already know everything and that you have the solutions. Since everything is possible for you, I open my mouth and cry out loud. I praise you and lift up your name over all my situations. As I praise you, I can see the victory coming. Thank you so much Lord.
