“Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.” – Psalm 105 : 4

To seek the presence of God is a commandment, a necessity, and a privilege. Without the presence of God in our lives, we only stir the air and flap our wings. The human being works in a perfect manner in his original conception when he is in the presence of God. Even if we can “succeed” in certain areas of our lives, when we do it without God, we completely miss the target. It is like planting a nail with a broomstick: the nail would be planted, but not as it usually is done.

“Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.”
Psalm 105 : 4

God had a plan in mind when he created you. He wanted you to live heaven on earth by walking in the works he had prepared in advance for you. He wants you to live in his presence every day of your life. He wants you to enjoy his presence and to develop a character that reflects Christ around you. That is his intention. That is his aim. That is why he instructs us throughout the whole Bible to seek him. With all our hearts. With all our souls. With all our strength. Why? Because he knows that he is perfect and he knows his real value. He knows that his presence is what we need, and what we seek from the bottom of our beings.

“We are nothing without the presence of Jesus, but in the presence of Jesus, we have everything!”

Jesus is our daily bread. His word is our food. He is our strength. He is our fortress. His Spirit is our living water, which is and eternal refreshment. His blood is our protection. His heart is our compass. His love is our source. His voice is our guide. His eyes are a perfect artwork to be continuously contemplated. His fire is our passion. His name is our authority. His cross is our life. His life is our salvation. He is marvelously perfect and wonderfully good.

We are nothing without the presence of Jesus, but in the presence of Jesus, we have everything! I would like to encourage you today, dear friend, to continue seeking the presence of God. Do not stop on this good road. He does not expect you to be perfect to take some time with him; he just expects you to come.

Prayer: Lord, I decide to follow you. I decide to seek your presence, more than anything else, all the days of my life. Help me to have a heart which seeks you, which is thirsty of you. Help me to stop loving futile things of this world, so that I could worship only you. Amen.
