Receive the favour of God

Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee King, to do judgment and justice.” – 1. Kings 10 :9

The great Queen of Sheba, powerful and rich, decided one day to leave the comfort of her kingdom to begin a long journey to the centre of Jerusalem. The reason for this departure was a strong desire to deepen her knowledge and comprehension of the things of the world. But also, leaving “her territory” was to satisfy her curiosity concerning things that were told in her country:  a certain king, Solomon, son of David, would possess an incredible wisdom.  Thus, she prepared herself quickly for this journey and left to reach the beloved nation of God: Israel.

During this royal meeting, the queen of Sheba was impressed by the excellence and favour of the king Solomon. We all know the outcome of this story: stunned by the prosperity and wisdom of the king of Israel, her majesty, the queen, praised him and acknowledged the hand of God on her life.

“Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee King, to do judgment and justice.”

I would however, like to point out one item, and above all, a principle, essential in this story. Why did Solomon receive this extravagant favour of God? Why could he reign with such an extraordinary intelligence and richness? The bible gives clear and limpid answers to these: “Because the eternal God loves Israel forever.” Wow! Can you see the correlation between the heart of God for humanity and your own destiny?

I believe from the bottom of my heart that the Lord wants to bless you abundantly and to deploy his glorious favour on you. He wants to place you in a royal position so that you can reign in and with him in a victorious manner. This means that it is wholesome to understand why God places his hand on us: for the others! The favour of God is powerful and the capacity to transform entire nations to the glory of Christ. However, when the Lord keeps us informed about his favour and his blessing, they should be orientated towards those people touched by our influence. They exist in order to keep the kingdom of God advancing. The favour of God exists to reach the most destitute people, the people of our entourage and the lost souls. For sure, the heavenly father of glory wants us to enjoy goodness and that our life would be prosperous in all stages (read the 3rd book of John). Nevertheless, when the favour of the Lord remains only ON and FOR us, the plan of God is spoiled by our egocentrism. The favour should be shared and should lead us for our mission here on earth: make disciples from all nations.

“In order to accomplish this mandate, that God has given to you, you need his favour!”

In other words, God blesses us so that we may bless others. Jesus loves the whole world and has placed you, where you are, so that you will be a witness of his goodness. In order to accomplish this mandate, you need the favour of God! I believe and declare in the name of Jesus Christ, that you and your family will be richly blessed. I pray that the hand of God will be on you, and that your entourage, dazzled by the glory of God on your life, will bow your knees and acknowledge that Jesus is Lord. My friend, it´s time to receive the favour of God. Be blessed. Amen.

Prayer: Thank you father, because you love my neighbours, my boss, my children, my brothers and sisters, my colleagues at work. Thank you because you want to save them. I ask you to bless me so that I can be a source of blessings around them. Help me, Holy Spirit, not to be blinded by your favour, so that I can serve Christ with a pleasant heart. I love you and I bless you, Lord. Amen.
