“We are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” – Romans 8 :37 As Christians, we have the privilege to share the nature of God´s son – Jesus Christ. That´s the reason why the bible says that we are children of God. What does that mean? Frankly spoken, when we have decided to follow Jesus, to ask for forgiveness for our sins and that we are born again, the father considers us as he considers his own son. Therefore, God does not consider you through your transgressions or failures. He sees you covered by the blood of the lamb. He sees you just and justified. You have inherited his own essence and the Holy Spirit works day and night so that you may be transformed from glory to glory at his image. You may ask yourself what this has to do with the biblical passage mentioned above? My answer is simple: everything! The verse which meets our interest today says that we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. What a wonderful declaration of the holy scriptures. We are not simple conquerors; we are MORE than conquerors. We have not won at the grass roots, but in Jesus, we triumph in victory over satan, the sin and the tribulations of this life. The enemy has great fear when a woman or a man knows his identity in Christ.

This power, this courage and this assurance of being winners do not come from the fact that we are special beings. Christians are no super heroes who deserve trophies and special powers just for them. No. Far away from that. We are more than conquerors because Jesus Christ is more than a conqueror. He is the one who conquered death, the tomb and the powers of the darkness. He is the one who has received the name above all names. He is the one who sits on the throne and reigns in majesty, being the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords. His inheritance is therefore your inheritance! The apostle Paul reveals to us in the letter to the Philippians, the secret of his ministry and the secret of his strength. How could he endure such persecutions? How did he do to evangelize a majority of Minor Asia and Europe? How did he do in order not to give up and to stay focused? “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me”. (Philippians 4 :13). |
“His inheritance is therefore your inheritance!.” |
There is no magic formula for living a victorious Christian life. There is no PowerPoint presentation which indicates to us how to receive anointing in 3 steps. God did not give us a manual which guides us in a perfect walk without any problems. Oh no, God has given us his son. That´s the secret. The secret is a person. In order to ask the question “how?”, we answer “who”. My friend, Jesus is in you. You are more than a conqueror in him. He has given you his spirit in order to live a life of 100%, to destroy the works of the enemy, to bring heaven on earth and to be a real ambassador of Christ. His blood is sufficient for you, his love fills you and his power projects you. |
Declare together with me today: In Christ, I am more than a conqueror. Sin has no power on me. Fear shall leave my life in the name of Jesus. I am chosen, loved and foreseen to live an abundant life for the glory of God. Amen!
