Hope with a supernatural expectation

“I know that it will work out to my salvation through your prayer, and through the working of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing I shall be put to shame” – Philippians 1 : 19-20

When you have hope, you have a supernatural expectation that what God has promised will come true in your life. In these Bible verses, the apostle Paul is talking about this type of supernatural expectation. Paul uses two different words from the Greek language, both of them can be translated as “hope.”

One of them means “the happy anticipation of good”. The other can be defined as “eager expectation, tense expectation, headstrong observation, disregard of anything that might hold attention.”

So, for example, Hebrews 11:1 says: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for” which can be translated as “things of which we have an eager expectation or a tense expectation.”

Philippians 1 : 19-20

When you are so anchored in the Word of God, you cannot be distracted from it. The divine hope comes alive in you. And so there will be times in your life when you are so attached to what the Word says, you can’t think of anything else despite the challenges or the storms outside. It is supernatural.

When hope is so great in you birthed through His word, that you will be able to talk to other people with no shadow of a doubt that it will happen or even already happened as He promises in His Word. When His Word invades our spirit, it is that inner being that becomes greater than the outer. And that inner being no longer doubts having his head “stretched” towards that hope that believes without a doubt that it has already come true.

“When you have hope, you have a supernatural expectation that what God has promised will come true in your life.”

Jean-Luc Trachsel

When your hope becomes that strong, it doesn’t matter what kind of unbelief, opposition, or contrary to the Word situation the devil tries to throw at you. You are so focused that you can’t get out of it. The divine inner picture of your success or breakthrough, to which the promise of God’s Word has given birth, is simply stronger than the circumstances.

So, whatever your reason for believing in God, set your supernatural expectation. Long for it. Reach out and refuse to be distracted by all the things that might throw you off course and tell you it won’t happen.

Keep the promise of God’s Word before your eyes and it will sustain your hope, and you will see your desire fulfilled!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your word and your promises. I decide to believe in your word and not the circumstances. With a happy anticipation of good, I declare that your promises will be fulfilled. I don’t care about what people say or about the feeling I may have, I only position myself with a tense and eager expectation of Your action in my life.
