“Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” – Isaiah 7 :14
The holy story of Christmas is so wonderful. It is wonderful not only because it symbolizes freedom, joy and festivities… but also as the story concerns one single person: Jesus Christ.
“Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” – Isaiah 7 :14
The “sign” that God gives us in Isaiah 7: 14 is indeed the coming of one single person. This “sign” is that the Savor of this world is carried in the womb of Mary. This “sign” is that the seed prophesized in Genesis 3:15: “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel”, is finally realized!
“The holy story of Christmas concerns one single person: Jesus Christ.“
This “sign” leads us to the Messiah. This “sign” is the sign that indicates the most wonderful news: Christ, who was attended for such a long time, is now born. He has brought to us the Good News. He comes to preach peace. He comes to destroy the work of the enemy. He dwells with us. Therefore, let’s welcome him with joy and welcome his word with softness. He is here!
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, because you came on earth. Thank you for dwelling among us. Thank you for all good things and good news that you give us. On this Christmas day, me and my family, we adore you. We renew our alliance and allegiance with you. Thank you as we have the privilege to serve you, wonderful Jesus. Amen!
