“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” – Proverbes 3 : 5-6

This well-known biblical passage in the book of Proverbs reveals to us the heart of God for our daily life.  Sometimes, we think that the Lord is interested only in the fireworks of our Christian march, the “important moments” of our faith. However, our heavenly father takes care of us, and guides us in the smallest details. Doing this, he proves his interest and his love for his children. However, and fortunately, his ultimate aim does not end here; his plans are much bigger. The father has only one plan: that we should look like his son. As Christians, we are called to imitate Christ with our words and actions, in our manner how we live, interact with others, in our manner of thinking, in our motivations, etc. And this can take place only when we experience an aspect of his divine nature which transforms us in the image of his son.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbes 3 : 5-6

For example, when we live what the bible calls “new birth” (John 3 :5), we experience the real salvation of our souls which comes from Christ. Thus, we discover in this glorious moment that Jesus is our saviour and we taste the reality of his nature. Once this moment passed, we have in us a relational historic with God to which we can have access for the rest of our life. If Jesus saved me from my sins and from hell, he can / wants still to save me from another hazardous situation, I am living today. If Christ healed me from a physical sickness, I have lived myself Jehovah Rapha, the healing God, I have no pretext any more to question his heart to heal the sick.  Hallelujah, this is good news, isn´t it? The expression “acknowledge him” from the verse 6 of Proverbs 3, is the same word used in Genesis 4 :1 “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived”. I think that we do not need to be a big physician to understand, that Eve did not become pregnant just because Adam looked or spoke to her … they shared a moment and intimate relation which gave birth to their son. Dear friends, the same happens with our God. When we acknowledge him – we have an intime relation, a personal meeting – in all our ways, we will level our paths.

“God invites us to meet him in a particular manner, so that he should be glorified and that we look more and more like Jesus Christ.”

But which are these famous ways in our lives? We have different ways: there is the way for all that concerns our family, a relational way, the way of our finances, the way of our health, of our church, a way of our ideas and our creativity, etc. Briefly spoken, the list is long, but in all our ways, God invites us to meet him in a particular manner, so that he should be glorified and that we look more and more like Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Lord, I invite you to join me in my ways. Come and demonstrate your presence in my finances, my emotions, my relationships, my body and my family. My desire is to discover you and to know you more and more. Amen.
