“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5 :17 Redemption – an expression, and above all this divine experience that so many people are looking for. A lot of prisoners sentenced to death would have appreciated hearing these words coming out of the final judge’s mouth: redemption! Redeemed! Every fault forgiven! We all remember when we were a child, and when we did something stupid which one day would come out, this feeling of guilt, deep shame and fear. Once dad, mum or the teacher would have found out the stupid thing, the consequences of punishment were irrevocable. At that moment, we would have done everything so that this stupid thing would never have been done. We would have paid every price in order to get just one single, second chance. Thus, redemption is only tempting, when we are sentenced guilty, forgiveness is only available when we avoid that we have made a mistake, and redemption is only available when we are in a status of slavery.

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” |
The bible affirms: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3 :23). Thus, we are all guilty. We deserve the anger of God, death and hell. That´s what every single human being deserves. Our sin makes us being guilty. This guilty includes that we can be sentenced. And this condemnation brings shame. However, another man came on earth. This man has never committed any sin. He has never made any mistake or fault. His name is Jesus, he is the son of the living God. This man, perfect and magnificent, died for us. He took on him our sin, our iniquities, our addictions, our illnesses, our perversity and our shame. When he died on the cross, in our place, he made this redemption, so attended, available for us. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8 :1) My friend, expressed it so well: “Jesus did not come to give us a mattress in our prison. He did not come to paint the bars in pink to make it more beautiful. He did not die on the cross and rise so that we would be a little bit “adjusted” or repaired. No! Jesus came to deliver us! Completely and totally saved by his grace. That´s his plan and the efficiency of his gospel”.

“The redemption is more than tangible; the redemption is real and living!”

My friend, Jesus does not only want to change your life. He wants to give you a new life! When we are born again, we are a new creature. His blood has washed and purified us. All our chains are broken and dissolved. Redemption is more than tangible; redemption is real and living! Why? Because redemption is a person. In 1. Corinthians 1,30, God´s world teaches us that Jesus is our redemption. It´s him who redeemed us. It´s him who is the way of this redemption and he is also the final aim of this redemption! Imagine your live without struggling against guilt, condemnation and shame. Today, and at this moment, it´s time for you to experience his divine grace. Grasp this grace by grasping Christ. Give him your sins, ask for forgiveness and receive by the power of the Holy Spirit the forgiveness and the redemption of your life! |
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, because I am a new person in you. You do not maintain my faults, and you forgive me. I ask you to reveal to me the joy of your salvation. Show me how you see me and how you love me. Teach me to live in the total redemption of your blood. Amen.
