A bright light

Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists.

Acts 12:7

This story occurred in a very dark season. King Herod was persecuting the Christians. When Herod saw how much this pleased the people, he also arrested Peter during the Passover celebration and imprisoned him, placing him under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to publicly try Peter after the Passover, wanting to kill him. But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed earnestly for him, and God answered in a supernatural way.

God can answer you too. Firstly, an inner peace, a lively hope, and the consolation of the Holy Spirit can keep anyone calm in the most challenging seasons, even when facing the prospect of death. Secondly, when you are desperate, even at the end of your rope, there is a place where you can ask for help and deliverance. This place for salvation and deliverance is called PRAYER TO GOD, and He will answer you. Sometimes, God’s time to help is when things are at their darkest. Peter was assured that the Lord would bring this trial to an end in the way that would be the best for His glory.

My friend, you may feel imprisoned for different reasons, being bound in chains that restrict your freedom. This prison can be called depression, sickness, lack of resources, shame, financial difficulties, or even bankruptcy, people who hate you, war in your mind or in your home or many other things.

I have good news for you. If you ask the living God in Jesus name, the same God that sent The Angel of the Lord to deliver Peter, He will come and set you free in a supernatural way. The same bright light which appeared suddenly in Peter’s cell can fill your life as well, bringing you the hope and the strength you need to leave your prison. God will give you new ideas and revelations on how to break free from your confinement. Expect God’s supernatural manifestation for major breakthrough today. Maybe you will not know where to go exactly, but follow God. He will save you from your sins, your bondage or any kind of difficulties. You will be able to overcome with His Help. Even gates of iron can be opened for a total deliverance (and for Peter it was the second time!). When the light appeared with the Angel of the Lord, four notable miracles took place:

1. Helplessness of the guards

2. Chains falling off (Acts 12:7)

3. Going through three gates without being noticed

4. Automatic opening of the gates (Acts 12:10)

God is light, and like the light, He is extremely gentle, subtle, pure, and brilliant. He wants to shine upon you. Peter, when he awoke, saw what great things God had done for him and this experience will become yours.

Prayer: God almighty, I’m opening my spirit to your Holy Spirit so that your light will shine upon me. I’m expecting the unexpected, a miracle of deliverance in my life. I call upon Your name Jesus and I ask you to set me free from all bondage, every chain and every person who tries to keep me locked in this place. And I ask and believe in You to open every door of my prison. I will trust you and I will follow you out of my prison and into Your freedom.
