“For the Mighty One is holy, and He has done great things for me.” – Luke 1:49
There’s something so beautiful about this verse that deeply touches me. I decide to turn my eyes to my God who has done great things to all of us.
This scripture is not just a declaration; it’s an anthem of praise from someone who has experienced God’s power firsthand. Mary, the mother of Jesus, said these words as she rejoiced in God’s incredible plan for her life. Her testimony reminds us of the faithfulness of our holy God, who does extraordinary things for ordinary people like you and me.
No matter where you are today, let me encourage you: the God who did great things for Mary is the same God who is working in your life. He hasn’t changed. He is still the Mighty One, holy and powerful, ready to show His greatness in your family, your workplace, your health, and your future.
“For the Mighty One is holy, and He has done great things for me.”
Luke 1:49
Have you ever stopped to think about all the “great things” God has already done for you? Maybe it was that time He provided when you were in desperate need. Perhaps He brought healing when you thought the situation was hopeless. Or maybe He protected you from something you didn’t even see coming. Sometimes, it’s easy to overlook the miracles in the middle of life’s busyness, but they are there if you take a moment to reflect.
I once met a man who had lost everything: his business, his home, and his hope. Yet in his brokenness, he cried out to God, “Lord, I need You to do something great for me because I have nothing left!” Within weeks, he was given an opportunity to rebuild his life in a way he never expected. Step by step, God restored what was lost, and today, that man shares his story to encourage others to trust in God’s faithfulness. He said, “It wasn’t just about the financial blessings; it was about the peace and purpose God gave me in the process. That was the greatest thing He did for me.”
What is your story? Maybe you’re praying for a miracle today, wondering if God still moves in power. Let me remind you: He does! He is not limited by your circumstances. The same God who spoke the stars into existence, who parted the Red Sea, who fed thousands with just five loaves and two fish—that same Mighty One is alive and working on your behalf. He’s done great things before, and He’ll do them again.
“God is a God of greatness! What He has done before, He will do again. Keep believing, keep expecting, and you’ll see His hand at work in ways you never imagined.“
Friend, God’s greatness isn’t reserved for someone else. It’s for you. Maybe you’ve been believing for something to change for a long time: a healing in your body, a financial breakthrough, the restoration of your marriage, or the salvation of a loved one. Don’t give up! The Bible says that God is holy, which means He is set apart and entirely good. He never forgets His promises, and He never fails His children.
Mary’s response to God’s greatness was one of worship and trust. She didn’t try to figure out how everything would work out. She simply believed, and that faith opened the door for God to do the impossible. In the same way, your faith invites God to move in your life. Even when you don’t see the answer right away, trust that He is working behind the scenes, setting up blessings that will exceed your expectations.
Let this truth fill your heart today: God loves to do great things for His children. He’s done it in the past, and He will do it again. Look at your life through the lens of faith and start expecting His greatness to unfold. Declare it over your family, your health, your finances, and your future. Say, “The Mighty One is holy, and He is doing great things for me!”
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being the Mighty One who is holy and faithful. You have done great things in my life, and I believe You are not finished yet. I choose to trust in Your power and goodness, even when I don’t see the full picture. Strengthen my faith, and help me to keep my eyes on You. I declare that miracles, breakthroughs, and blessings are on the way because You are working in my life. Thank You for loving me and for being a good Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
