Filled by hope

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” – Romans 15 :13

How I love this verse. This verse is full of life, hope, and provides a real catalyst for our faith.

First of all, I consider it very interesting to see “that abound in hope” is a direct fruit of having “been filled with all joy and peace.” When I am full of the joy and peace of the Lord, I automatically possess a divine hope. When my soul is peaceful and joyful, I have direct and easy access to heavenly hope in Christ. The biblical hope is a sure confidence of being able to taste the goodness of God in the near future. Isn´t this a reason to rejoice?

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Romans 15 :13

Furthermore, in this part of the holy scriptures, the word of God gives us a compass and solution to stay in hope. The next time you will be facing bad news – either of medical, financial, or relational origin, let the presence and power of the spirit soak your heart. By his help, decide to rejoice and to remain in peace. Doing this, the bible promises that you will be overflowed by a supernatural hope. Hallelujah! So, even if you are reading these sentences, I believe that the Holy Spirit will descend on you to refresh you and give you life. Receive now his anointing so that you may see clearly the hope which is in front of you. Glory to Jesus.

Let´s return to the roots. Do you recognize the richness of our God in this verse of the epistle to the Romans? In fact, this magnificence is expressed by the terms “fill” and “abound.” He does not want to give us just the strict minimum, so that we may survive during our long pilgrimage on earth. No, no, no! Our God is not stingy. He is not the director of a poor, small and miserable orphanhood nor the tyrannic leader showing stinginess concerning his resources given to his employees. Our God is a father. An extremely good father, radically generous and glorious who wants to fill us with his joy, his peace, his presence and his favour.

“Biblical hope is a sure confidence of being able to taste the goodness of God in a near future.”

“Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”  (Matthew 7 :9-11)

The God of hope has loved us “so much”, not only “a little bit” or just “loved.” Far from that! He has loved us SO MUCH, that he has given his only begotten son so that we may have eternal life by believing. His supreme love is based on the fact that he has given us Jesus Christ – our real hope. I know that I know that I know that the Lord wants to fill you with his peace and his joy, so that you may abound in hope – within you and around you. Amen. Be blessed, my friend.

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, I come to you as I am. Fill me with your peace, your joy and your hope. I need you and I love you more than anything else. Help me to see the situations in my life from the perspective of a good father who is for me and not against me. In the marvellous name of Jesus. Amen.
