You can do everything

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:13

With Christ’s help, you have the strength to do everything. In all things, especially while suffering, you can rely on the strength of Christ, who lives in you and works through you.

The apostle Paul, who wrote this verse, was often in bondage, in prison and in need; but in all, he learned to be content, to bring his mind to his condition, and make the best of it. Pride, unbelief, vain hankering for something that you do not have, and a fickle dislike of present things, make men unhappy even under favorable circumstances.

Pray for patience, courage and hope when you are abased; for humility and a heavenly mind when exalted. It is a special grace to always have a balanced state of mind. When you are in a low state, not to lose your hope and comfort in God, nor distrust His providence, nor take any wrong course for your own gratification. When you are prosperous, not to be proud, or secure, or worldly. This is a harder lesson than the other; for the temptations of fullness and prosperity are more than those of affliction and want.

Don’t become discouraged. Take courage knowing that in Christ you can find comfort, courage and strength to fulfill what you are called to do. Start to dream again, allowing the Holy Spirit to release in you God’s perspective. Through Christ, you have the grace to do what is right, and through Him you can expect the reward. As you have all things by Christ, do all things for Christ and to his glory.

Prayer: God, thank You for Jesus Christ in whom I can find all the strength that I need today and in this season. I won’t listen to my feelings, nor will I be afraid of the mountains in front of me. I put my trust and hope in you God, allowing the Holy Spirit to release in me all the strength that I need, coming to Jesus the anointed one, Jesus the Christ. Through Christ I can do and will do everything according to God’s will.
