The blessing of the Lord for a great harvest

Genesis 26:12-13
“When Isaac planted his crops that year, he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted, for the LORD blessed him. He became a very rich man, and his wealth continued to grow. ”

During his sojourn in that district, he farmed a piece of land, which, by the blessing of God on his skill and industry, was very productive (Isa 65:13; Ps 37:19). By his plentiful returns, he increased so rapidly in wealth and influence that the Philistines, afraid or envious of his prosperity, obliged him to leave the place (Pr 27:4; Ec 4:4).

God established a principle regarding sowing and reaping. Isaac planted his crops before harvesting a hundred times more grain than he planted. God gives us grains to eat but also grains to plant in order to have a harvest. Never plant the grains God gave you to feed your family and yourself, and never eat the grains that God puts in your hands to plant for a great harvest.

When you work and labor in tears, God promised that you will reap with great joy. Maybe you’ve been going through a difficult season, working very hard, but now is the time to believe in God for a great harvest. God is promising us today, “the earth will yield its harvests, and God, our God, will richly bless us.” Psalms 67:6

Ask the Lord for His blessing over your seeds and expect His blessing, able to multiply your grains a hundred times more than what you’ve planted. Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always reap what you sow (Galatians 6:7).

And when God releases the blessing, it’s not in a small portion to keep you poor. God is good, infinitely wealthy in everything. As you put your trust in God, as you have great hope in Him and believe that when you sow you will reap a hundredfold, His wealth will be released over you. His blessings include abundant joy, peace, love, favor but also earthly wealth. Just as God blessed Isaac to be a very rich man who had wealth that continued to grow, God is willing to bless you in the same manner as you are His child.

Now we must remember, when God’s blessing brings prosperity to a person, a business, or a ministry, there will be jealousy that we will have to deal with. The Philistines envied Isaac. It is an instance of the vanity of the world, for the more men have of it, the more they are envied and exposed to censure and gossip. It´s the corruption of nature for that is an ill principle indeed, which makes men grieve at well-being of others. They made Isaac go out of their country. That wisdom, which is from above, will teach us to give up our right, and to draw back from contentions. If we are wrongfully driven from one place, the Lord will make room for us in another. And wherever we will move forward, if we follow God’s advice, His blessing will follow us. Nobody will be able to steal the blessing coming from the Lord.

Prayer: Lord God, help me to discern the grains that You give me for my food and the grains that I’ve to plant. Thanks for this principle of sowing and reaping. The grains that You put in my hands to sow, I want to release them and to put into a fertile soil. As I plant my seed, I’m expecting Your blessing for a hundredfold harvest. Thanks for Your blessing over my life, my family, ministry and businesses.

Quote: When we follow God’s direction, His blessing will follow us wherever we go and nobody will be able to steal the blessing coming from the Lord.
