We are living a very interesting season. For some people it’s easier than for others. But one thing is sure, there was a day before the COVID19 and there will be another one after this pandemic.
God spoke to me and I would like to share with you an extract from the scripture.
Numbers 21:4-9 (NLT Study Bible Text,)
Fiery Serpents and the Bronze Snake
4 Then the people of Israel set out from Mount Hor, taking the road to the Red Sea to go around the land of Edom. But the people grew impatient with the long journey,
5 and they began to speak against God and Moses. “Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they complained. “There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!”
6 So the LORD sent poisonous snakes among the people, and many were bitten and died.
7 Then the people came to Moses and cried out, “We have sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you. Pray that the LORD will take away the snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people.
8 Then the LORD told him, “Make a replica of a poisonous snake and attach it to a pole. All who are bitten will live if they simply look at it!”
9 So Moses made a snake out of bronze and attached it to a pole. Then anyone who was bitten by a snake could look at the bronze snake and be healed!
INTRODUCTION
First of all, I want to encourage all of us not to become impatient like the people of Israel. There are different seasons in our life. BUT we have to know that God is in control of everything. The only thing that we need to do, is to put our trust in HIM.
What God promised, will happen. The promised land is for all of us. But it’s not a direct road.
- It’s not a highway but winding paths
- We are facing wild animals on this way
- The weather is unpredictable (sometimes there is sun, sometimes it’s cold or very hot, sometimes there is hail …and sometimes it’s the blue sky)
- And on this way we are facing real enemies (who are not our wife or husband or brethren or even our priest or pastor)
Let’s read this powerful and key verses that we need more than ever in this season.
Ephesians 6:12-20 (NLT Study Bible Text,) 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
And then God says in verse 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor > so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. (surely we are living a time of evil) . Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
My friends we are living the most exciting time in history but also the most challenging time. The battle is real as the devil is real, too. The devils knows that Jesus is coming back very soon and that before this, there will be a massive harvest of souls
This is the reason, in the midst of a calamity where poisonous snakes were biting the people who died, the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY told Moses, “Make a replica of a poisonous snake and attach it to a pole. All who are bitten will live if they simply look at it!”
And the Good News is : Anyone who was bitten by a snake could look at the bronze snake attached to a pole and he was healed!
1) Poisonous snakes have been released all over the world biting this generation but there is HOPE
These snakes are bringing chaos and turmoil and panic all over. They are biting and releasing poison like
- Anxiety, fear, depression, sicknesses, all kind of mental and physical diseases
- Bitterness, anger, pain, division, fights, separation, darkness, panic, economic disaster, a lot of desperate cries, fight in the families but also in the communities etc.
But the Good news is that there is HOPE as God will provide a way to set us free from these snakes.
2) The people of Israel recognized why the poisonous snakes came and they said : We have sinned
We have sinned” “We have sinned” “We have sinned”
by speaking against the LORD and against their leader Moses.
And they asked Moses: Pray that the LORD will take away the snakes.”
My friends, this is a great season and great opportunity as I’ve said since the beginning of this COVID19, let’s humble ourselves and let’s repent for our bad ways. All of us including the leaders need to redefine the priorities in our life according to God’s will and principles. Let’s come back to Our Lord God obeying Him and Trusting Him fully including for our own life but also for our family, business, ministry, church, country etc.
