“How will anyone know that you look favorably on me—on me and on your people—if you don’t go with us? For your Presence among us sets your people and me apart from all other people on the earth. ”
Moses made his request even more directly. Once again, he showed his understanding of what God was doing. The Exodus was not merely about getting the Israelites out of Egypt so they could go to Canaan. It was about a personal experience of God that would change their way of life. If that was not possible, then they might just as well have stayed at Sinai. Going on to Canaan would be disastrous without the Lord.
Without God’s presence we can’t succeed our mission on this earth. His presence is vital just as oxygen is vital to breathing. His presence in our life sets us apart from all other people on the earth. We are not better than the others, but through God’s grace we have access to the most important thing in our life: GOD’S PRESENCE.
His presence will not only fill the deepest parts of our souls, but it will also give life to our spirit, opening doors that nobody can open. His presence sets us apart from others as it’s God Himself in us bringing favor wherever we go and whatever we do according to His will. But His presence will also bring us the most glorious manifestation to fill our hunger and thirst for Him.
My friend, God’s presence should be our priority before going anywhere or doing anything else. Let us be sure that God will be with us. When we pray, intercede and search His face and His presence, God will, with His grace through Christ Jesus, answer us with these 7 promises that Moses received:
1) My presence shall go with you.
2) I will give you rest.
3) My presence will go with you and Israel because of My love for you (Ex. 33:17).
4) I will make all My goodness pass before you Ex. 33:19).
5) I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you.
6) I will be gracious and show mercy to whom I will.
7) I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and cover you with My hand while I pass by, so you will not see My glory as expressed in My face; then I will remove My hand so you will see My glory expressed at My back parts (Ex. 33:22-23).
Prayer: God, I know that without You I can’t move or do anything. Only Your presence sets me apart from all the people on the earth. I don’t deserve it, but through your grace and the price paid by Jesus, I have access today to the most precious gift I could ever receive for my life: YOUR PRESENCE. I welcome You in me and in my daily life. Fill me with Your glorious presence so that I may hear You and even feel Your breath. Thanks, God, for Your presence that gives me great favor.
