Your body rests in Hope

“King David said this about him: ‘I see that the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope. For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your Holy One to rot in the grave. You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.’” – Acts 2:25-28

David was not talking about himself in the quoted passage but was prophetically looking into the future and talking about Jesus resurrection. While cruel men had crucified Jesus, this action had not defeated God’s prearranged plan for salvation. In fact, God rose Jesus back to life, which David had foretold. Christ was God’s Holy One, sanctified and set apart to his service in the work of redemption. His death and sufferings should be, not to him only, but to all his, the entrance to a blessed life for evermore. This event had taken place as foretold, and the apostles were witnesses. The resurrection did not rest upon this alone; Christ had poured upon his disciples the miraculous gifts and Divine influences, of which they witnessed the effects. Through Jesus the Savior, the ways of life are made known that your whole body may rest in HOPE. Expect God’s presence, and his favor for evermore.

Leave the place of disappointments and frustrations today. Jesus prepared for you a place of joy in His Presence where you can just relax trusting your God for the best. It’s your time to quit this mentality of doing more by your own and taking your promised land of resting in Hope. As you establish yourself in this place by letting go your worries and preoccupations, you will not only allow your soul and spirit to rest but also your whole body will be healed, restored and find real rest in HIM.

Prayer : Lord you have shown me the way of Life. Today I decide to leave my worries, my agitation and restlessness to enter this place of great rest in Hope. Fill me right now with the joy of your presence to allow my whole body to rest in You.
