A blessed New Year !

These are all the blessings that will be poured out on you and that will be your portion, when you obey the voice of the LORD your God.

Deuteronomy 28:2

What a privilege it is to start a new year, a new time period by holding on to the promises of God. Of course, we all have enemies, deadlines, obstacles, challenges and so on. But God does not change and all that He promises to us remains true forever.

Our tongue possesses the power of determining the present and the future of our lives. When we declare negative things about our lives, it is like releasing a seed that will take root and produce the proclaimed fruit. In the same way, if we proclaim God’s promises and blessings over our lives, then we will see the things we declare coming true.

I would like to suggest that we begin this new year by declaring aloud the blessings promised in Deuteronomy 28. With faith, conviction and a positive expectation we can together proclaim aloud over our lives, families and businesses:

1 I will obey the voice of the LORD my God by observing and doing all the things which He commands me this day. The LORD my God will give me dominion over all the nations of the earth.

2 These are all the blessings that will be poured out on me and that will be my portion, as I obey the voice of the LORD my God

3 I shall be blessed in the city, and I shall be blessed in the field.

4 The fruit of my womb, the fruit of my ground, the fruit of my flocks, the increase of my herds and my flocks, all these things shall be blessed. (All my undertakings shall be blessed)

5 My basket and my hutch shall be blessed.

6 I shall be blessed when I come, and I shall be blessed when I go.

7 The LORD will give me victory over my enemies who rise up against me; they might go up against me one way, but they will flee from me  seven ways.

8 The LORD will command blessings to be with me in my storehouses and in all my undertakings. He will bless me in the land which the LORD my God is giving me.

9 I will be a holy person to the LORD, as He has sworn to me, when I keep the commandments of the LORD my God and walk in His ways.

10 All the peoples shall see that I am called by the name of the LORD, and they shall fear me.

11 The LORD will make me rich, multiplying the fruit of my womb, the fruit of my cattle, and the fruit of my ground, in the land which the LORD swore to my fathers to give me.

12 The LORD will open to me his good treasure, the sky, to send rain to my land in its season, and to bless all the work of my hands; I will lend to many nations, and will not borrow.

13 The LORD will make me the head and not the tail; I will always be on high and never be down low when I obey the commandments of the LORD my God which he commands me this day.

14 And I will not turn aside to the right or to the left from all the commandments which He gives me this day, to go after other gods and to serve them.

I declare that in spite of the opposition and various challenges, this new year will be a blessed and glorious year in Jesus’ name! Amen

Prayer: Dear God, as I’m beginning this new year, I want to bow down before you recognizing that you are the God and Lord of my life. I don’t know what will happen this year but I decide to put my hope and trust in you alone. As I’m following you and obeying your voice, I declare that this new year will be a blessed year.

Quote: Proclaim God’s promises and blessings over your lives and then you will see the things you declare coming true.
